Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026
About this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to Pakko Pty Ltd (ABN 27 616 401 355, "Pakko", "we", "us"), of 70 Yarraman Place, Virginia, QLD 4014. It explains how we collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), as amended by the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024. We apply the APPs to the personal information we handle regardless of whether the Privacy Act's small business exemption applies to us.
What personal information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- name and company name
- contact details, including email address, phone number and postal address
- shipping and billing addresses
- order, quote, and purchase history
- account login and authentication details, where you create a Pakko account
- payment-related information processed on our behalf by PayPal (Pakko does not collect or store your full card details)
- marketing and communication preferences
- website usage, session, and cookie data collected via analytics and session-recording tools
- if you apply for a trade credit account, the credit-related information described under "Credit applications" below
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, place an order, request a quote, contact us by phone or email, or sign up to marketing communications. We also collect information automatically through cookies and analytics when you browse our website.
If you request a quote through quote.pakko.com.au or idp.pakko.com.au (Pakko's quoting and design platforms), you are also added to our marketing communications list on an opt-out basis, as disclosed to you at the time you make the request on those platforms. See "Marketing preferences" below for how this differs from the opt-in signups on this website, and how to opt out.
Why we collect it
We collect, hold, and use personal information for the following purposes:
- processing and fulfilling orders and quotes, including delivery and payment
- creating and managing your Pakko account
- responding to customer service enquiries and internal record keeping
- sending marketing communications about products, offers, or news — either because you have opted in (for example, by signing up through a form on this website) or because you requested a quote through quote.pakko.com.au or idp.pakko.com.au, in which case you are added on an opt-out basis as disclosed to you at the time of your request (you can opt out at any time either way)
- improving our products, services, and website
- complying with our legal and regulatory obligations
- preventing fraud and protecting the security of our systems
Who we disclose information to
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share personal information with trusted third-party service providers who help us run our business, including:
- PayPal, to process payments
- Klaviyo, for email marketing and customer communications
- Resend, to deliver transactional emails (e.g. order confirmations)
- Supabase, for account authentication and secure data storage
- Transdirect, to obtain freight quotes and arrange delivery (this involves sharing your delivery name, address, phone number and email with our freight partners)
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, Ads, reCAPTCHA, and Maps/Places), for website analytics, spam and bot protection, address look-up, and — where you have not opted out and consistent with applicable law — measuring and improving the performance of our advertising, including reporting some contact details (such as a hashed email address, phone number, and postcode) to Google Ads for conversion measurement
- Microsoft Clarity, for website analytics and session-behaviour recording (this may include how you interact with pages and forms on our site)
- Meta (Facebook), where an advertising or measurement tag is enabled via Google Tag Manager, for advertising and analytics purposes
- Vercel, our website hosting and performance-monitoring provider
- if you apply for a trade credit account, credit reporting bodies and referees you nominate, as described under "Credit applications" below
We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law.
Credit applications
If you apply to Pakko for a trade credit account, we may, with your authorisation, obtain a credit report about you from a credit reporting body and contact referees you nominate to assess your application, as set out in our Terms and Conditions. We handle any credit-related information we collect in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including Part IIIA and the credit reporting provisions of the Australian Privacy Principles.
Overseas disclosure
Some of the third-party service providers listed above store or process personal information on servers located outside Australia, principally in the United States (this includes PayPal, Klaviyo, Resend, Google, Meta and Microsoft, and may include Supabase and Vercel depending on the hosting region configured for our account). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, including by relying on their published privacy and security commitments. We have not identified any other overseas recipient countries as at the date of this policy; if that changes, we will update this section.
How we use cookies
We use cookies (small files sent to your browser or device) to run and improve our website. The categories of cookies we use are:
- Authentication — keep you securely signed in to your account
- Preferences — remember settings and choices you've made on our site
- Statistics and analytics — help us understand how visitors use our website, including through Google Tag Manager/Analytics and Microsoft Clarity session-behaviour recording
- Marketing — used to personalise offers and communications and to measure advertising performance (via Klaviyo, Google Ads, and, where enabled, Meta)
The banner shown on our website when you first visit lets you acknowledge our use of cookies as described in this policy. You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your own browser settings; disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features. See our Terms and Conditions for further cookie details.
Our website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and recommend you review their privacy policies separately.
Data security
We are committed to keeping your information secure. We use appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure, and we regularly review these measures.
Access, correction, and deletion
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request that we correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete, and to request that we delete it. To make a request, email us at info@pakko.com.au with enough detail to identify you and the information requested. We may need to verify your identity before actioning a request. We will respond within 30 days, and access/correction/deletion requests are free of charge, though we may charge a reasonable fee to cover the cost of retrieving information for larger requests. We handle deletion requests manually; we may retain some information for as long as required by law (for example, financial and tax records), to resolve a dispute, or to enforce our agreements, and will tell you if we are unable to fully action a deletion request for one of these reasons.
Data breaches
We have a data breach response plan and follow the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act. If we become aware of a data breach involving your personal information that is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it promptly, take steps to contain and remediate it, and notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required.
How to make a complaint
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at info@pakko.com.au so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
Marketing preferences
We send marketing communications on two bases. First, an opt-in basis: where you sign up through a form on this website (for example, a newsletter or pop-up signup), we only start sending marketing once you have confirmed your subscription. Second, an opt-out basis: if you request a quote through quote.pakko.com.au or idp.pakko.com.au, you are added to our marketing list on the strength of that enquiry, and this is disclosed to you at the time you make the request on those platforms — this Privacy Policy repeats that notice here as a second point of disclosure.
Under either basis, you can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in any marketing email we send, or by emailing info@pakko.com.au. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional communications relating to your orders or account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
